The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified teacher with a Bachelor of Arts in History (distance or open university degrees not accepted), along with a PGCE/PGDE/QTS or equivalent. While experience in the British National Curriculum is preferred, it’s your proven ability to deliver high-quality Humanities teaching and create an engaging classroom experience that truly matters. Candidates should bring a creative and enthusiastic approach, both in and beyond the classroom, and be passionate about helping students explore history, geography, and social issues in depth.
Applicants must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments and phases. Strong IT skills, adaptability, and an eagerness to share best practices are essential. A UK-enhanced DBS or equivalent police check, and a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for candidates on a company-sponsored visa, will be required. Preferably, the teacher will also drive or be willing to travel as needed.
